My First Bootcamp Class

Where on Plymouth Hoe do we meet?

We meet at The Coffee Shack, Hoe Road, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 3DE. On your first visit, please arrive 15 minutes before the bootcamp start time, so that you can fill out a quick Par-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire). To save time you can fill out our Online Par-Q Here.

What type of clothing shall I wear to a Bootcamp Class?

Plymouth Hoe Bootcamp classes take place rain or shine, so it is very important that you dress suitably for the weather conditions on the day as all bootcamp classes are taken outdoors. Waterproof clothing is recommended for when it it wet, and also hats and gloves for when the weather is particulary cold during the winter months. Some bootcamp classes are taken on the grass where clothes may get a little dirty, so it is advisable not to wear your best workout gear if you do not want it to get a little mucky.

What is the minimum age for joining Plymouth Hoe Bootcamp?

We understand that obesity in children is on the increase, so therefore the minimum age to take part in one of our bootcamp class is 13 years of age. All teenagers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, and have filled out a Par-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire)..

Health and Safety

Are your Bootcamp Classes Safe?

All of our bootcamp classes are instructed by fully qualified fitness professionals who are qualified to instruct group exercise outdoors. All of our bootcamp instructors are trained in first aid and a first aid kit is also readily available at the meeting point. From time to time bootcamp instructors will perform risk assessments of the outdoor environment, to make sure that any hazards that may be present are clearly communicated with the Bootcampers.

Equipment & Facilities

What exercise equipment do you use, and will I be shown how to use the equipment correctly?

Each bootcamp class is different, and various exercise equipment will sometimes be used such as kettlebells, boxing gloves and pads, resistance bands, weighted bars etc. Your health and safety is our number one priority, so for health and safety reasons all exercises and use of exercise equipment will be instructed clearly by your bootcamp instructor. If you are unsure about the use of any of the exercise equipment being used, please feel free to ask your instructor for help and advice.
